Alex L. De Lozanne |
Alex de Lozanne was born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico on May ?, 1953 to ? His brother, Arturo De Lozanne, also became a faculty mmber (Department of Molecular Biosciences) at the University of Texas at Austin.
Education
Alex graduated from Prepatoria High School in Mexico City, Mexico. He graduated from Purdue University cum laude in 1976 with a BS in physics. His undergraduate thesis was entitled "Pressure dependence of the Eo gap in ZnTe" His Advisor was B. A. Weinstein. In 1982, he earned a PhD in physics from Stanford University. His dissertation was entitled, "High-Tc SNS Josephson Microbridges ." His supervising professor was M. R. Beasley. In 1985, Alex was appointed Asssitant Professor of Physics at UT. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1990 and Professor in 1996. He retired in 2025.
